U.K. Employees Ride 170 Miles in Friend’s Honor
Warmer weather has many Northern Hemisphere employees enjoying the great outdoors again, including three from Avnet Technology Solutions (TS) U.K. The trio recently spent three days bicycling 170 miles to raise money for charity.
Neil Davis, Steve Harman and Ian Taylor rode 60 miles a day from Morecambe on England’s West Coast to Bridlington on the east, climbing 2,657 meters in the process and expending 21,000 calories as they rode through wind, rain and hail.
They and 17 others braved the elements in tribute to Davis’ friend Dean Masom, who died of a brain tumor. Masom received support from The Christie, an organization that raises money for cancer patient care beyond the scope of national healthcare service.
To date, they have raised more than £2,800. For more information about their efforts, visit The Christie website.
