About Teri Radosevich
Teri Radosevich (pronounced – Ruh•daas•uh•vich)
Avnet’s Vice President of Community Relations and Public Affairs
Teri is responsible for community outreach, government affairs and local community branding of Avnet, a $15.8 billion value-added distributor of electronic components, computer products and services.
This year (2009) has been a busy one. Teri was approached by Boston College’s Center for Corporate Citizenship to help address the topic of ‘Leading Corporate Citizenship in the 21st Century: The role of the community involvement leader.’ Her interview was published on their Web site and excerpts were included in the final report which was presented in July.
Teri also was invited by her alma mater Eastern Illinois University to help enlighten students, first as an Executive-in-Residence. She was invited to present in March and, shortly thereafter, was invited to serve on the EIU Business School Advisory Board. Teri and Avnet are proudly represented on the EIU Executive-in-Residence webpage http://www.eiu.edu/~business/buscommunity/executiveresidence.php.
Awards: In 2009, Teri received an award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) honoring Avnet with a Gold Quill Merit Award, an international competition, for the Avnet Tech Games. Teri was named the 2007 Community Relations Person of the Year by PR News magazine. She also received a 2007 PR News Corporate Social Responsibility Award and a 2006 PR News Nonprofit PR Award. In her professional career, Teri has earned more than 35 Awards: local, national and international including an Emmy and a Telly.
Experience: Prior to joining Avnet in 2000 as director of community relations, Teri served as corporate communications manager for VistaCare, a national hospice provider. Among her accomplishments during her six years as advertising and community relations manager at Motorola, Teri spearheaded a partnership between Motorola and the City of Phoenix Police Department to create the award-winning “Wake Up!” campaign which addresses youth violence in Phoenix, Ariz. “Wake Up!” is still going strong after more than a decade and provides a model that has been adopted by several municipalities nationwide. Prior to joining the high-tech industry, Teri spent 10 years in the utility industry in public relations and marketing positions.
Highlights: Teri has created – from the ground up – successful employee volunteer programs at three companies, including two Fortune 500 companies. She is highly sought after by Phoenix-area organizations for her skills as a mentor of young corporate and nonprofit professionals. She also coaches nonprofit organizations the use of non-traditional and strategic approaches to achieve success. A native of southern Illinois, Teri has spent much of her adult life focused on children’s and women’s issues.
